Florian Schwarz (b. Konstanz, Germany, 1979) studied Photography (2003-2007, MFA) at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, Belgium, and Documentary Filmmaking (2011-2012, MA) at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Central to his artistic practice is the human condition; Schwarz‘ photographic and multimedial projects often deal with lifeworlds on the margins of society.
His monographic publication A Handful of Dust (published by KERBER) was awarded the ‚German Photobook Award in Silver 2019/20‘. His works have been exhibited internationally (including National Museum of Scotland, Goethe-Institut Madrid, Noorderlicht Photofestival, Photo España, Backlight Photography Festival, Berlin Month of Photography, Zepplin Museum Friedrichshafen, Kunstmuseum Singen). Florian Schwarz lives and works at Lake Constance in Southern Germany.
